Feasibility Study Greenlit for Proposed Parkland

We’re excited to share that Te Hapori Hauora Community Land Trust’s vision for a public parkland surrounding the Tākaka Cohousing neighbourhood has taken a big step forward.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Lotteries Community Facilities Fund, a feasibility study is now underway with Boffa Miskell to explore how this land can be developed into a space that serves neighbourhood residents and the wider Golden Bay community.

📄 Read all about it in the recent article from The Press HERE.

The study will assess the potential for creating publicly accessible parkland, with walking tracks, native gardens, gathering spaces, and areas for connection with the natural environment. This project reflects the Trust’s commitment to regenerative development and community-led design.

The next phase of the project will involve community and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the future of the land is shaped together - with input from manawhenua, local residents, and community organisations. This process will help the Trust to understand the needs, dreams, and possibilities for how the space can support wellbeing, culture, and ecological stewardship.

We’ll be sharing updates as the feasibility work unfolds.

Stay tuned!
